Biography

Deborah W. Campos of Lovettsville, VA, formerly of McLean, passed away on May 28, 2020 at her sister’s home in Middleburg, VA., from breast cancer. She was born on September 6, 1952 in Monterey, CA to her late parents, LTC ret Elwood E. Wilmeth and Maria G. Wilmeth, PhD. She is survived by her daughter, Maria S. Campos and granddaughter Giolene M. Campos; brother Eric Wilmeth (wife Karen Hurst); sister Michelle W. Hansen (partner Ronnie Craun); one nephew, Christopher Hansen (partner Christine Foster); one niece, Jessica Hansen (husband Victor Hernandez) and other family and friends in Italy, Peru, and the USA.

She was surrounded by her family during her transition.

She received her degree in English from George Washington University and taught English as a second language. She started working for Italian Aerospace Industries and went on to start her own business, Bilingual Services, which provided translation services for businesses. She later became a photographer for The World Bank in Washington, D.C., where she then retired. After retirement, she went on to become a cashier at Harris Teeter in Purcellville, VA. Her interests included dancing, traveling, photography, her family ancestry and spending time with family and friends. She loved to help people in any way that she could. She was a friend, sister figure and mother figure to many that loved her. She will be sorely missed and forever in our hearts.
